Suspended Ceilings

Installing suspended ceilings, also known as drop ceilings, requires a set of specific tools and materials to ensure a smooth and successful installation. Here's a comprehensive list:

  • Laser Level, Chalk Line, or Level Line: To mark the ceiling height accurately on the walls and keep the ceiling level across the room.
  • Tape Measure: For precise measurements of the room and ceiling tiles.
  • Utility Knife: For cutting ceiling tiles to fit as needed.
  • Straight Edge or T-Square: For making straight cuts on tiles.
  • Tin Snips: For cutting wall angles, main tees, and cross tees.
  • Hanger Wire: To hang the grid from the overhead.
  • Wire Cutters: For cutting hanger wire to length.
  • Lag Poles: For attaching hanger wire to the overhead when it is out of reach.
  • Clamps: To hold the grid in place until it can be riveted or screwed in place.
  • Screw Gun or Drill: With Phillips head bit for installing wall angle.
  • Grid Punch: For providing holes in the grid at odd lengths for riveting.
