This 8.5" shag style stipple bush is ready to use from the package. The drywall texture brush is made of horse hair/poly blend filaments and is pre-formed (flattened) and geometrically designed to create starburst-like drywall textures. The base is a non-rot, non-chip plastic block with female 3/4" coarse threads for attaching an extension pole. All brushes have step-by-step instructions on the back of the packaging. This brush is used for leaving impressions in the compound – not to apply compound to walls or ceilings.
To use:
- Add some water to the drywall compound, and mix thoroughly to your preferred consistency.
- Roll the drywall with compound in two directions to get an even coat.
- Apply compound to the brush. Then bump it repeatedly onto the section of coated drywall until you achieve your desired pattern.
